Sixth Annual St. Louis Shakespeare Festival

  • Hermann Farm Distillery 28 Hermann Farm Road Hermann, MO, 65041 United States (map)

Hermann Farm will host a lively outdoor performance of The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona explores themes of camaraderie, love, and betrayal through the story of two friends, Valentine and Proteus, who fall for the same woman, Silvia. The performance is described by the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival as “an original rom-com about friendship, forgiveness, and the hilarious messiness of growing up”.

The performance is presented by TourCo, the traveling arm of the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival. Artistic Director Tom Ridgley says that “Hermann Farm feels like something out of a fairy tale”, and that “for the past five years, bringing our touring Shakespeare productions to this beautiful setting has been the highlight of [the] summer”.

The show will take place on the back lawn of Hermann Farm Distillery. Admission is free, and the gates open at 5 pm with the performance starting at 6:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Food, wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. No outside food or alcohol permitted.
