The Teubner-Husmann Household
The 1847 Greek Revival house — the focal point of Hermann Farm — was built by Charles Teubner, a successful entrepreneur who operated a plant nursery and vineyard. One afternoon, while hunting, he met Josephine Husmann and their marriage set in motion circumstances that would impact their own lives, as well as the lives of George and Louise Husmann and Charles and Amalia Manwaring, and change the history of wine making in America as well as Europe.
