Hermann Farm- Shire Handler

If you have a strong work ethic, and sense of responsibility, Hermann Farm could be your next stop in fulfilling your career goals. Our Shire Handler will work in a team and independently to provide specialized animal care and tours to the public.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean stalls, replace bedding, clean and maintain facility for tours.

• Assist with care of Shire Horses: Feed, Water Groom etc.

• Assist in maintaining trucks, tractors, wagons, harness, equipment, tools, etc.

• Current Driver's License.

• Perform public relations and interact with public and media in a professional manner.

• Assist in performing all aspects of showing and caring for the Shire Horses and other livestock.

• Previous Horse driving experience is desirable, but not necessary.

Job Qualifications

• Proven experience as an equine caretaker or similar role.

• Knowledge of horse behavior and safety practices.

• Ability to handle large animals with care.

• Physical strength and agility.

• Familiarity with basic first aid for horses.

• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.

Work Location: In-person

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift

• Holidays

• Weekend availability
